Now that you have booked the flights and have arranged your serviced holiday apartment in Paris, the next thing to sort out is the transport while in Paris city itself. Of course, the cheapest and best way to see the city and get around it is on foot, but this might not always be the option, since the city is large and one can get really tired from sightseeing, shopping and fun. Thus, the city offers a very good public transport, which is among the safest and most efficient transportation systems in the world. The trains in Paris usually come on time, the buses are clean and there are special commuter express trains that cover all the important stops in Paris in record time. The conditions of the Paris public transportation are getting better each year, since the government is planning a good budget on the Paris trains, buses, metro and tramlines.

Getting a bus around Paris may not be the fastest way to reach a place but it sure is the mire scenic one, if compared with the metro or the RER trains. The bus stops in Paris are found throughout the city and most of the bus stops come with electronic information systems, which offer data hen the next bus is about to come. Most of the stations also have maps of the neighborhood area. There are some bus routes that are very scenic and are cheaper option than the Paris bus tours. These bus routes are line 38, line 68 and also line 28 and line 96. Line 38 covers the southern part of the city, the Latin quarter and the Seine River, as well as the Notre Dame Cathedral. Line 68 covers Musee d’Orsey, the Seine River, the Louvre and Opera Garnier. Line 28 covers Ecole Militaire, the National Assemblee, the rover Seine, the Grand Palace and the Champs-Elysees, while line 96 covers Hotel de Ville, the Bastille area and the medieval neighborhood Marais. Most of the bus lines in Paris run from early in the morning until midnight and there are night buses that run throughout the city as well.

The trams in Paris are also a good way of transportation but it covers mostly the southern part of the city, though many new lines are planned to be opened. Of course, the fastest way to travel around the city is by metro and by the RER subway trains, though just a few large stations serve the RER train network. In Paris city there are 16 metro lines, where there is one line (line 14), which is automated and is called the Meteor. The metro runs on every five or ten minutes and is on time. The lines of the metro come with colors as well.

There are also commuter train lines called RER, which come with letters and stop at every station in Paris, they run on every 6 or 7 minutes. There are also some suburban trains as well called Transilinen, which depart from the main train stations.
